TallyBoard | Everyday Stuff | Dreading This!!
|
|
I'm leaving tomorrow night to head up north and visit my grandma. She has never seen Braelyn, so I think it is past time. The dreading part - my parents are going with me. They are staying in a different hotel room (hello, I have my limits). But I dread the ride up there and back. I don't want my dad in the passenger seat for 12+ hours. I really, really want him to ride in the back of the van.
The sad thing is that I probably shouldn't be worried about it. With the Parkinson's he is very mellow. He used to be combative and argumentative, but now he is a bit more relaxed. He still has his 'topics', but apparently the majority of things he is sensitive about now. He told me the other day my email was rude, when I wasn't trying to be rude, I was just being honest. I do hope that he sleeps for a good portion of the trip though, since we'll be leaving his house around 4:30 AM. So between my parents (and I love my mom, but she is sickening sweet - too much and you want to choke her) and my kids, I think this 11 hour road trip will be more like 15. The only good things are I have an entire bag of food and Braelyn wears a diaper. And you have to excuse me, I'm taking the last sip of wine from the bottle that I opened at 9pm. :( 04/30/12 at 11:21 pm EDT

Thanks. I've already informed them that we are stopping at chick fil a for breakfast and lunch. And there will be no complaints about eating 'fast food'. Persnickety old geezers ;)
The kids will need to run and burn off some energy in the play area. I do love my family, its just a bit much to handle all at once and 24/7 for a few days in a row. And everybody is so loud. Poor Braelyn, who is about as anti-social as you get, will likely be curled up in my lap and refuse to move. LOL! 05/01 at 09:43 am EDT | reply

Lol good luck, man. I'd totally suggest spiking their drinks with Benadryl, but hey. You may be more patient than I am. :-)

Nah, I'm not patient at all. LOL!
I have an entire bottle of muscle relaxers and plan on passing them out like m&m's. :) 05/01 at 06:45 pm EDT | reply

I think I need a Valium. I lost it with my dad this morning. I will be home soon. That's what I keep telling myself
