TallyBoard | Everyday Stuff | I have a Plan B!
As some of you know....my Girl Scout troop & I were planning to go to Girl Scout camp at the end of this month. Unfortunately, I got the registration forms turn in late - and they filled up early. I didn't find that out until the beginning of this week. SO I had to come up with a Plan B and now I have one!! I found a great location at a semi-local Christian camp, where we can rent the staff house/dining hall, and basically have the whole facility to ourselves (including play area, bonfire area & swimming hole) for less than it would've cost us to go to Girl Scout camp. All I have to do is figure out our meal plan and 4 days/3 nights of activities. It's really close to Crater Lake National Park - so we'll spend one day hiking around there and then the rest of the time will be doing crafts & games. I'm so glad I have a Pinterest account because I've found scads of ideas there. Here's a pic of Crater Lake. It really is a beautiful natural lake caused by a volcanic explosion thousands of years ago. You can't swim in it or boat in it. It's very pristine. I think it's the deepest lake in the US.
So....we're going to make tie-dyed tshirts, have a photo booth, with photo props, go on several different scavenger hunts, make some swaps, play games & maybe even do some science/cooking experiments. Should be lots of fun (and maybe even better than real Girl Scout Camp)! I just know that I'm going to be exhausted by the time we're done! Anyone wanna come & help?! 06/08/12 at 02:04 pm EDT

If I could get half of my daughter's troop there... we would all come join you and I would help! Kinda' far from Minnesota to Crater Lake. (I've been there before... I'll look for the family picture)
