Sometime yesterday I got a sudden pain in my back - around the kidney area. I managed through the day at work, came home and went straight to bed with a heating pad. Called in sick today. The pain is still there. It hasn't moved so I don't think it's a kidney stone. It HURTS! I'm sitting on the couch right now and think I will have to go lay down again (except that I'm tired of laying in the bed). Whatever this is had better go away soon cuz I don't like to be in pain. :( 07/18/12 at 12:16 pm EDT

Could still be a stone, sometimes they take forever to move. Or it could be stuck (that is usually what happens to mine since they are boulder size). Hope you feel better soon!
And I like Kelly's suggestion :) 07/18 at 03:46 pm EDT | reply

I had gall stones and they are similar in pain. Simple ultrasound to check for either. And with gall stones, they can just remove it and then no future pain. Awesome!

Ugh! I've had kidney stones before. This doesn't feel like that - but the pain is still there! Extra strength Tylenol barely cuts the pain. Grrrr. Had to laugh at Kelly's comment. Hoping it goes away!

Have you had a large one get stuck? For me, the pain between a regular stone and a stuck stone is very different.
Sorry you aren't feeling better. Maybe a warm bath? 07/19 at 04:52 pm EDT | reply
