For all of the people who say they want to see this board more active , I sure don't see anyone replying to posts or signing up for card swaps, Or for that matter offering much of anything. This is my favorite site to go to and I really hate to see it go down the drain. I know all of you are out there lurking so how about we see some action.I see some of you gals posting on facebook alot , how about here. It's not hard to go to the galleries or just to reply to another post. I'm not trying to be bitchy , I just care about this place.

The plain simple truth is 5-10 regulars really can't make this site what it was - not even 20 could.
We all thrive on some positive comments (it's just human nature - heck what is the first thing you do most the time you log onto a blog or facebook - read the comments - feedback) and we all like to have our work appreciated - but part of that is a wide and varied point of view and that just doesn't happen here now. We KNOW that all the regulars love each others work - but it is kind of like when someones say "that is nice dear" time after time after time - it just doesn't seem enough for some reason. I admit it - I need feedback - it is what gives me the encouragement to create. I should be able to create "just for myself" but I guess it is one of the bad consequences of these types of sites back in their day - is they made us love even crave that feedback because it made us want to go out and do even better - that is what I miss more then anything - that challenge and excitement. I don't sell or even have anyone to give my stuff away too - and that is another way of getting that feedback. I even do the same with my paintings - I know if I don't sell some for a couple of weeks I go into a funk and don't feel like painting anymore - then I will sell some more and boom - the creativity is back. It's not the money (which is always nice) but the fact that someone appreciated my work enough to want to buy it. That's my thought on the subject and also explains why I am not doing creating of late. 180 | 11/02 at 01:12 pm EDT | reply

I'm here. But maybe my feedback doesn't count. :( Bree - 5 to 10 regulars CAN make a difference here. That's how Tally started way back when. It was small when it was first started. Granted...it started back when scrapbooking was starting to boom, so it grew quickly. But that doesn't mean we can't continue loving & supporting those that are here. I love your work Bree. I think your art is amazing. I'd like to think that you don't discard my feedback just because I'm always telling you that I love your work. That's self-defeating. You are a brilliant artist. You should keep on creating and find as many venues as you can to display your work. I wish I had half your talent! Kim - I'm here with ya! I will be here till the lights go out. I'm not the most prolific scrapper, but I am here. I love what gets posted here and this is where I go to get my inspiration. This is where I go to post what I've made. This is where I go to get feedback. It bugs me when no one responds to my posts on the message board - but that doesn't stop me from posting. Maybe y'all will get tired of me & kick me out! *lol* But until that happens...I'm staying. Maybe as a group, we can quit whining about why people have wandered off and just start having fun and being happy with what we have here. I belong to another board (not scrappy-related) that only has 15 plus or minus active members and we have a great time. Tally is a way for us to share our craft, tell our stories, hang out and just be with other like-minded people. EVEN IF WE'VE LOST OUR MOJO! Let's take Tally back and make it our own. Yes, there are physical things we can't change about Tally - but that doesn't mean our means of communicating with each other has to change. USE the message board. POST your creations in the gallery. SHARE with us what's going on in your day (even if you post it on FB). ADD funny things to the message board. It's not that difficult people. And we're only as good as we make it. Take it as a challenge & do what you will with it. I'm still here and I'm a nice person and maybe you should get to know me..or Kim...or Kerrie...or Holly...or Ann...or Kristin...or Kelly....or Christine...or Bree...or Jess...Pam...or jcluvstoscrap(wish I knew your first name)...or the other dozen or so people that still hang out (or lurk) here! I don't wanna hear no more negative talk now. Git off your butts & post something. Say hello. Come back & get involved. Tell us your good stuff & your bad stuff. We love you just the same. This is a community and to be a strong one, we need you involved. *stepping off my soapbox* 190 | 11/02 at 02:12 pm EDT | reply

Very well said!!! I have always felt that the day is only as good as you make it. If you focus on the negativity that's what kind of day you will have . I prefer to focus on the positive things and make the most of life in general. Like today , I have 4 days off and they just called me in to work tonight. I figure that other people have covered when I needed it so why not help them out when I can. It's not gonna work if we don't make the effort!!!

Nobody asked my opinion, but I am giving it anyway. I have been very depressed since Tally showed us what it was like to go away. I walk in my scraproom and I am depressed. I don't even want to scrap. I love challenges. I need them! I looked forward to coming home every night and scrapping that challenge. What happened to everyone? Was scrapbooking just a phase? I love it and I want my grandchildren to have stories of their lives when they are grown. I need inspiration! I wish I had an answer on how to make things work around here. Tally is the only place I go. I don't want to sound negative, but I understand what Bree is saying. (Oh and by the way, my name wasn't even on the list of people still lurking. What's up with that?)

Hey Pam. I'm sorry I didn't remember to add your name. Oh gee...didn't mean to not include you...was just trying to remember names. No harm intended! Forgive me?? please? I agree with you too. We need to get some inspiration going here! I've been scouring the internet today to try & find some challenges that we could do here. I don't want to copy what every other site has - but I have no imagination for these things! Would you be interested in hosting a challenge? I was thinking we could have a Weekly, Monthly, Seasonal challenge. What do you think? 11/02 at 07:37 pm EDT | reply

I am not good at making challenges but yes, I think if I am going to complain, I should be willing to put them up too. I like for them to run thru 2 weekends. That should give most people a chance to get them done and not drag them on for the ones who do them right away.
And no worries about leaving me out, I was j/k, really. 30 | 11/02 at 08:06 pm EDT | reply

Lately, I do good to have to energy to look at the computer. Just soooo tired lately. It sounds strange, but it's as though since I finished school, I can't hardly focus in on anything these days.

Right now, I think Bree & Kelly(Tallysmacker) have the ability to approve challenges. So...if you post a challenge - make sure you TM one of them and ask them to approve it. Otherwise it doesn't show up on the front page. Holly - hang in there! I know what you mean about energy levels. I battle with it every day, especially during the winter months (it's worse). Even if you're not crafting - stop in here and let us know how you're doing! *HUGS* 20 | 11/03 at 12:05 pm EDT | reply

Hello! I'm still lurking....been kinda sick this weekend. Yesterday I slept all. day. long. Today, much better! I think lots of the ladies who used to hang out here just don't scrap anymore and without product coming in I think its hard to woo new scrapbookers....especially since you can't utilize a lot of what made Tally so great-tallylove, daily prizes, challenge prizes..etc.
Just following what Bree said...you can create a challenge without prizes. If you just go through the steps to create a challenge and when it comes to picking prizes-don't. It'll tell you that you need to select a prize and you may think that it didn't go through but it did on the admin side. Someone will still have to approve it, but you can add your own challenge without prizes =) To follow on with posts from a few months ago-I have tried to contact the owner about buying Tally back but she has yet to answer my emails. Sorry, ladies. 70 | 11/04 at 02:51 pm EST | reply

I've been semi lurking...always have mojo to burn & sometimes nothing to do with it. On days I should be doing my mommy duties including housework...there's a magnetic force that grabs me to Tally. You ladies are always so sweet, supportive & honest opinions (which I LOVE).. i'm hoping to get my butt into gear to do more then just my normal predictableness around here & try new things...

I still come and check in. There usually isn't much to see on the MB so I don't comment much. I've been MIA in the scrapping world for a long time! Been busy with life, raising teenagers, becoming a Gramma way earlier than I planned, and just keeping my head above water.
I'll admit too, that the lack of organization here, and the pace that things get done leaves a lot of frustration for me, and since I can't really do anything about it like I would have been able to once upon a time, I don't really like coming here. It stresses me out. It breaks my heart. This place absolutely COULD be what it used to be if there were some changes to how things run. Once upon a time, I put a lot of time and energy into helping this place get off the ground, and run smoothly. It was absolutely a 5-10 persons making this place come to life. That is fact. IMO, for what it's worth, part of the reason things slowed down, is that there wasn't anyone helping to keep the site "up with the times" so to speak. In cyber years, Tally is OLD and it shows! Not sure what I'm trying to say... I just miss things the way they used to be. I miss having the power to get things done. I'll keep hanging around and hoping for a change! It would be nice if the current owner would just let Tally be the place it has the potential to be. 20 | 11/05 at 12:06 pm EST | reply

PS
It's not a challenge HERE, but it's something FUN to get some bonding going! I started a page on FB called Monday Mugshots. I would have liked to share it here last week, but the last time I shared something that wasn't "Tally" I got my hand slapped. I'm gonna say f*ck it today though, and invite you all to come play. Consider it a Photography Challenge that is on going. "We want your mugshots! Post photos of your coffee, tea or even beer mugs here every Monday! At your computer, in the sink, with your cat, or simply all on its own. Share your mugshots by sharing them on the page in the same area you would post, and choose Photo/Video. Make sure to TAG Monday Mugshots in your pics! Hash tag: MONDAYMUGSHOTS" 20 | 11/05 at 12:16 pm EST | reply

Hey Rach! We drove through your general neck of the woods last week and I thought, "Hey...my friend Reedsport Rachel lives around here, we should stop to visit!" (thats what I have to call you to differentiate you from Portland Rachel and Seattle Rachael). Anyway...one day, we'll stop! :) As for "hand-slapping"...why would anyone do that? Jeesh. I think the cross-culture is so important here. I wanna know what other people are doing on other sites. I like your Monday Mugshots - I just never think to bring my camera to work with me. 11/05 at 01:28 pm EST | reply
